Pay: $24.00 - $26.00 per hour (DOE) Schedule
Hours: Full Time, 4/10-hour shifts, Monday-Thursday
Job Requirements:
Basic knowledge of AC and DC electrical systems, photovoltaic systems as well as basic knowledge of construction methods and techniques.
Ideal candidate will have experience installing AC and DC PV systems.
Experience in operation of heavy equipment (Telehandlers, Mini-Ex, Forklift) a plus.
Ability to work at heights, lift 60 lbs comfortably, and work on roofs in various weather conditions.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Excellent teamwork skills, strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Commitment to safety and the ability to set and follow safety guidelines rigorously.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Job Overview:
The primary responsibility of this role is the expert installation, maintenance, and repair of single- zone and multi-zone ductless mini-split HVAC systems in residential and light commercial settings. Position requires strong technical skills in refrigeration and electrical systems and a commitment to high-quality work and exceptional customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Installation: Precisely install indoor air handling units and outdoor condenser units according to manufacturer specifications and all local and national building codes.
Refrigerant Circuitry: Measure, cut, bend, and connect refrigerant lines using industry best practices, including proper brazing, flaring, and pressure testing techniques.
Electrical Work: Perform all necessary low and line voltage electrical wiring and connections for indoor and outdoor units, ensuring all work is safe and compliant with electrical codes.
Commissioning & Testing: Vacuum/evacuate refrigerant lines to meet stringent micron levels, charge systems as needed, perform start-up procedures, balance airflow, and test the entire system to ensure safe and efficient operation.
Troubleshooting: Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults in existing mini-split systems, replacing components as necessary.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all work performed, including detailed service reports, warranty documentation, refrigerant usage logs, and work orders.
Customer Service: Provide professional and friendly customer interaction; explain system features, operations, and maintenance requirements to clients clearly and patiently.
Safety & Compliance: Adhere strictly to all health and safety regulations, including EPA guidelines for refrigerant handling (Section 608), and maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Experience: Proven experience (typically 2+ years) specifically installing and servicing ductless mini-split systems.
Knowledge: Working knowledge of standard building construction methods and techniques. Ability to confidently drill holes and run line sets throughout buildings.
Certifications:
- EPA Section 608 Certification (Type I & II or Universal) is mandatory for handling refrigerants or ability to pass certification test.
- Relevant state/local HVAC contractor licensing requirements, if applicable.
Required Qualifications:
Physical Ability: Capable of lifting heavy equipment (up to 50+ lbs), working on ladders/at heights, and maneuvering in attics, crawl spaces, and various weather conditions.
Communication: Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with team members, supervisors and customers.
Logistics: valid driver's license with a clean driving record is typically required. Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, ability to work independently, strict adherence to all safety guidelines.
Preferred Qualifications:
NATE (North American Technician Excellence) certification.
Experience with Fujitisu ductless mini splits.
